ITHACA, N.Y. — Camp Good Days has announced Courage Classic II to take place on Friday, November 13th at Lynah Rink, featuring the Cornell University and Colgate University Men's Hockey teams.
Each team will be assigned three Honorary Captains, who are all participants in the programs and services at Camp Good Days. The Honorary Captains, all who have been personally touched by cancer, will attend a practice session with their respective teams — Cornell on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and Colgate on Wednesday, Nov. 11 — will be on the bench for a portion of the practice, lead the team in a chant, and eat a post-practice meal with the team.
On game night, the Honorary Captains will join their teams in a VIP area outside the locker room before warm-ups and will be at center ice for a ceremonial puck drop. The Honorary Captains and their families will be sitting in reserved seating for the duration of the game.
Cornell's Honorary Captains will be 11-year-old Austin Baker, 18-year-old Katie Foster and 9-year-old Brody Hines. Colgate's Honorary Captains will be 7-year-old Erika Berry, 12-year-old Noah Martin and 15-year-old Lauren Miller.
"The theme here at Camp Good Days is 'Where Courage Knows No Boundaries'," said Gary Mervis, Chairman & Founder of Camp Good Days. "We are so excited that Cornell and Colgate have come together again to participate in the Courage Classic, dedicated to our children. The Courage Classic provided great memories for our campers that will undoubtedly last a lifetime."
