PROGRAM COORDINATOR/ ASSISTANT CAMP DIRECTOR

Camp Good Days and Special Times, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, adults and families who’ve been touched by cancer and other life challenges.

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to help further the mission of Camp Good Days through the planning and delivery of our summer camping programs and special events at our recreational facility on Keuka Lake.

The Program Coordinator assists in managing the camp policies, procedures, staffing and programming. S/he will design and deliver weekly schedules and program activities, both camp-wide and specific to activity areas, which are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers' age and abilities. S/he reports directly to the Camp Director.

  • Position is Summer/ Seasonal with potential to move Full-time/Year-round
  • Residential commitment from June 1 – August 31, 2018 - required to remain on camp property while programs are taking place
  • Must be 18 years of age to apply

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Volunteer and Staff trainings
  • Oversee summer staff who are responsible for program areas (Arts & Crafts, Nature & Science, Woodworking, Music & Drama, Sports & Recreation)
  • Coordinate and support weekly program schedules and special events, adapting programming based on daily/ program needs
  • Schedule summer staff and secure substitutes for all elements of the program
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate program and administrative records
  • Maintain clear and positive written and verbal communication with all camp staff
  • Attend administrative staff meetings when necessary
  • Assist in overall camp operation at the direction of the Camp Director
