Coaches, cheerleaders honored at Courage Bowl luncheon

Rochester/Mendon, N.Y. (WHAM) - Honorary coaches and cheerleaders for the annual Courage Bowl game were recognized Thursday at a luncheon.

The St. John Fisher College Cardinals and The College at Brockport Golden Eagles will play in the Camp Good Days Annual Courage Bowl Saturday. As is the case each year, all proceeds will go toward the children and families of Camp Good Days and Special Times.

The honorary Brockport coaches are Sam Gigliotta, Joe Mayer, Luke Gworek, and Nolan Redhead. The honorary Brockport cheerleaders are Prudence Favaloro and Madison Muckle. The honorary St. John Fisher coaches are Connor McGee, Jacob Quinn, Triniti Jefferds, and Gary Burks. The honorary cheerleaders for St. John Fisher are Alleva Maxon and Korie Mae Spirito.

The young boys and girls who are battling cancer posed alongside the St. John Fisher and Brockport football teams ahead of the game.

On game night, the coaches will be with their teams in the locker room, take the field, and stand with the team at midfield for the coin toss. Cheerleaders will cheer on the sidelines for the duration of the game.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Saturday at the College at Brockport with the game starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for a donation of $5 each and can be purchased at the game or online here.

The annual Father Joe Lanzalaco Memorial Courage Award will be presented to Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter.
