In the past 16 years, the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC) has grown by more than 360% and become the third largest wine competition in the nation and fifth largest in the world.
The competition originally started as a fundraiser for Camp Good Days and Special Times sixteen years ago, with only 700 entries. Today, the competition and gala has grown exponentially and evolved into the charity's single-largest fundraising event. Last year's competition drew more than 3,800 entries from 50 states and 24 countries. Entries were judged by 72 wine aficionados from 18 countries.
Award-winning wines will be featured at public events following the competition, including a the Camp Good Days Wine Auction Dinner, to benefit Camp Good Days and Special Times. The dinner, which draws a crowd of more than 500 wine aficionados and collectors, will be held on September 30, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Plaza in Rochester, NY.
